Two Boards, Two Different Things
The daily challenge is generated from the date, which means the grid you played this morning is the exact grid everyone else played. That is what makes ranking those times fair, and it is the only list on this site where your name sits next to other people's. Finish today's board while signed in and your time joins it.
Personal bests are the other half of the page and they work the way they always have: every finished game is written to your browser's local storage, nothing is uploaded, and no account is needed. Free play boards are random, so those times are not comparable between players and are never ranked — the only score to beat there is your previous one. Clearing site data or switching browser wipes them, so a run you are proud of is worth a screenshot.
What Gets Tracked

- Personal Bests - Your fastest completion for each difficulty, saved in this browser
How Ranking Works
- Only boards you actually finish are ranked — hitting a mine does not produce a time
- One result per account per board, and the first one you submit is the one that stands
- Ties share a rank, so two identical times are both, say, third
- Times come from your browser and are sanity checked, not proven — impossible ones are rejected
Tips for Faster Times
- Practice on Beginner mode to develop muscle memory
- Use chord clicking (reveal adjacent cells when all mines are flagged)
- Start from corners or edges for more information
- Don't flag every mine - sometimes it's faster to just avoid them
