Why This Version Loads Where Others Don't

Most "unblocked games" sites fail on managed computers for reasons that have nothing to do with the game itself. They embed the game from a separate game host that the filter already knows about, they rely on a plugin or an old Flash file that modern browsers no longer run, or they open in a pop-up full of third-party scripts that a content blocker strips out. A school or company laptop that only lets you browse ordinary websites cannot run any of that.

This page avoids each of those dependencies. The board is drawn with standard HTML and a small script served from this same domain. There is no installer, no browser extension, no plugin, no game served from another site and no login wall before the first click. If your browser can open a news article or a documentation page, it can usually run this board too.

What It Cannot Do

"Unblocked" here means "has nothing that typically gets blocked", not "gets past a block". Some networks filter whole categories of sites, and games is a common category. If this domain is filtered where you are, the page simply will not load, and nothing on it can work around that. We will not suggest proxies or other workarounds either: a school or employer that blocks games has decided that on purpose, and the right response is to save the game for home or for whatever free time the rules allow.

Pick the Guide for Your Situation

The questions people ask depend a lot on where they are sitting, so each situation has its own page with the details that actually matter there.

Nothing Is Installed, Nothing Is Required

Everything the game remembers lives in your own browser's local storage: best times per difficulty, win and game counts, your daily streak, unlocked achievements and whether you prefer no-guess boards. That keeps the page useful on a shared or borrowed machine without creating anything that outlives the browser profile. If you clear your site data, the record goes with it. An optional account can sync those numbers between devices, but there is no prompt to create one and nothing is locked behind it.

Because it is just a page, there is also nothing to keep up to date. Whatever version the site is serving is the one you get, on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android or iOS.

The Board Is the Classic One

You get the three boards that shipped with Windows: Beginner at 9x9 with 10 mines, Intermediate at 16x16 with 40 mines and Expert at 30x16 with 99. The rules are unchanged. A number tells you how many of its eight neighbours hide a mine, and you win by opening every safe cell.

A few details make it more pleasant than many copies. Your first click can never hit a mine: the cell you click and its neighbours are kept clear, so every game opens with a usable region. Clicking a number whose mines are already flagged opens all its remaining neighbours at once, which is the chording technique fast players rely on. Middle-click does the same, Space flags or chords whatever cell is under the mouse, and F2 deals a new board.

If you would rather never lose to a coin flip, play the no-guess boards. Every board there has been checked by a solver to be clearable by logic alone. New to the game? The step-by-step Minesweeper rules guide explains the two deductions that solve most boards.

Phones, Tablets and Touchscreens

On a touchscreen, tap to reveal and press and hold to place a flag. Long presses are slow and easy to fumble, so touch devices also get a Dig and Flag switch under the board: set it to Flag and every tap plants a flag instead of digging. Beginner and Intermediate fit a phone held upright; Expert is 30 cells wide and is far easier in landscape or on a tablet.

Unblocked Minesweeper FAQ

What does "unblocked" mean for this Minesweeper?

It means the game needs nothing that locked-down computers typically refuse: no installer, no browser plugin, no extension, no sign-in and no third-party game host. It is an ordinary web page, so it loads wherever ordinary web pages load.

Can this page get around a school or work filter?

No, and it does not try to. If your network filter blocks the site by category, nothing on the page can change that. If it is blocked where you are, respect the rule and play at home instead.

Do I need an account to keep my times?

No. Best times, win counts, streaks and achievements are stored in your own browser. An optional account exists if you want to sync them between devices, but the game never asks for one.

Is it the same game as the old Windows Minesweeper?

Yes. Same three boards (9x9 with 10 mines, 16x16 with 40, 30x16 with 99), same rules, same numbers. The first click is always safe, and you can chord a satisfied number to open its neighbours.
